An allergy friendly snack
With many kids having nut allergies and a lot of schools being nut free, finding an on the go nut free snacks can be a challenge. Today I want to highlight 88 Acres seed bars because these products eliminate this challenge! While it can be hard to find bars free from nuts, these bars are free from peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, dairy, sesame, eggs, fish and shellfish. They are also gluten free and a great option for those following a vegan diet.
Let’s take a look at the nutrition profile
When I recommend bars for a snack, I always recommend looking for a short ingredients list with ingredients you recognize and can pronounce. I also suggest looking for:
at least 3 g fiber
at least 3 g protein
Who I recommend these bars for
Although I do not have food allergies, I still eat these bars. Paired with an apple in the afternoon, they are a great snack to hold me over from lunch until dinner. I recommend them to all of my patients that have nut allergies, and to my student athletes that attend nut free schools. These bars are a great between meal snack, and they come in handy for students that are running between classes and sports practice with no time to eat.
