Today’s POW is Banza chickpea pasta. As a dietitian specializing in food allergies, sports nutrition and weight management, finding this product was a win, and one I am able to recommend to most of my clients.
It can be hard for those with food allergies to find pasta they can enjoy and products that provide them with adequate protein and fiber. This pasta is free from the top 8 allergens (wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, soy, milk, egg) and makes it easy to add protein and fiber to the diet. The ingredients in this pasta are simple, and the nutrition profile makes it a great choice for a post workout recovery meal for athletes. A 2oz serving of banza provides 32g carbohydrates, 8g fiber and 14g protein. This pasta is great enjoyed on its own, or in your favorite pasta recipes. Try using it for spaghetti and meatballs or pasta primavera and you won’t be disappointed! Another banza pasta I want to just mention briefly is the macaroni and cheese. Although not appropriate for those with milk allergies, this pasta is delicious. With dietitian approved ingredients, it makes an easy last minute dinner when paired with vegetables! I always recommend adding vegetables to recipes. To make this easy, I keep frozen broccoli and spinach in the freezer so my pasta dish never has to go vegetable-less.
Have you tried Banza pasta? What is your favorite way to enjoy it?
